Golf Masterclass

Started as a trial in the summer of 2006, and with the generous support of a few Old Bedfordians, a programme to regularly coach some of school’s most promising golfers was initiated. Since September 2008, the scheme has operated in partnership with the prestigious Woburn Golf Club. Talented players have benefited from regular coaching from Woburn’s professionals who have worked on technique, fitness and mental approach. As a result handicaps have fallen and individual and team successes have increased. The modest funding behind this Masterclass programme demonstrates great value. Our objective, through the Campaign for Sport, is to set up this scheme with its own endowment fund (held by the Bedford School Trust) so it that will continue in perpetuity and will ensure that golf will continue to thrive at Bedford School. Establishing Golf Scholarships at Bedford will be a magnificent next step.
