Visit to Queens' and Pembroke Colleges, Evensong at King's College Chapel

We are delighted to have secured special access for a tour to Queens' College and Pembroke College, where we will have tea. This will be followed by Evensong at King's College Chapel and drinks in the College Bar afterwards. Many thanks to Roger France (45-56), Andrew Morris (Director of Music 79-11) and Michael Keall (Staff 57-62) for all their help in organising this event. We will of course see some very fine architecture - you may be aware that architect for Queens' College Chapel (completed in 1891) was George Frederick Bodley (1827-1907), who was also the architect for the School Chapel (completed in 1908). OBs will find this particularly interesting as there are some strong similarities in design. 

All OBs and partners are most welcome to join us at this event, but numbers are limited so please book early. In all we will walk less than one kilometre. The programme is as follows;

• 12.15 pm – Lunch locally for those who want to join us – The Anchor, Silver Street, Cambridge, CB3 9EL. Situated overlooking the River Cam opposite Queens' College Porters Lodge.
• 2 pm - Meet outside Queens’ College Porters Lodge 
• 3.15 pm -  Arrive at Pembroke College for a tour and perhaps a little music 
• 4.15 pm - Tea in the Old Library of Pembroke College 
• 5 pm -  Leave Pembroke for King's College
• 5.15 pm -  Arrive at King's College Chapel for the 5.30 pm Evensong (reserved seats)
• 6.30 pm - Drinks in King's College Bar
• 7 pm onwards – Depart

The cost for the afternoon (including tea in Pembroke) will be £5 per head. Dress is smart casual, but please no shorts, jeans or T-shirts. Please do let us know if you also plan to attend lunch as we are holding a group booking. The cost for lunch will be paid individually on the day as it will for drinks in the King's College Bar. We hope that you will join us.
