The School is keen to prepare students as best as possible for Oxbridge/equivalent international univisities, or for Medicine, Dentistry or Vet Science courses by holding realistic mock interviews for current boys. If you think you may the necessary subject expertise (subjects include Medicine, Law, Engineering, Physics, Biological Sciences, PPE and numerous more) and interviewing experience and can offer your time on this day, please find more information and list of subjects here, and fill in this form to offer your help. UK and international DVPs are invited to arrive from 12.00pm, with an informal light lunch at 12.30pm, to share ideas, recommendations, queries and issues, at the Royal College of Surgeons, London. We are confident that this will be a helpful and information resource for all DVPs attending, whether you have just taken over the role or have been one for a number of years and are looking for new ideas. Richard Palmer Memorial Lecture and Drinks |

The Bedford School community will be reflecting on and celebrating Richard Palmer's 29 years of service to the School through his two great passions: Larkin and Jazz. we mark his life through a lecture, which is to be delivered by Professor James Booth of Hull University. Professor Booth is a Larkin scholar and writer of the acclaimed 'Phillip Larkin: Life, Art and Love'. The lecture is to be followed by a drinks reception and jazz performances. OB DVP Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Visit to Bletchley Park |
|
This is an exciting opportunity to explore Bletchley Park, known as 'Home of the Code Breakers', near Milton Keynes. It played a vital role in World War II, most importantly in deciphering the Enigma and Lorenz codes. There will be an arrival coffee, tour, lunch, and a talk by OB Niall Creed (70-79) who has been involved with Bletchley Park for many years as a volunteer and has conducted a huge amount of research into the Park's links with Bedford and the impact of WW2 on the town. More details and online booking will be available once plans are finalised in due course. |

OB Dinner for those who served and worked in Iraq and Afghanistan |

As the drawdown of British Forces takes place in Afghanistan we will recognise and thank all OBs who have served in these two conflicts since 2001 with a Dinner. If you are an OB from any of the three services, regular or reservist, goverment officials or NGOs, or have worked in the area 'nation-building', please book your place. The Dinner is free for the OB and up to two of their guests (additional guests are £22+£1 booking fee). The Dinner will take place in the Great Hall, Bedford School. Dress code Black Tie/Mess Dress, and medals. |
